This is the place to find hand made heirloom quality quilts of all kinds!
I am Carol Richardson, the quiltmaker and artist. Since many of our guests are from places in the north, quilts are a practical and useful artform. I make all sorts of quilts and wall hangings in various sizes and fabrics. Each piece is hand quilted, which gives it a depth as well as design. Each piece has a title and is signed, "hand made in Anguilla", which it truly is. Each quilt has a flavor of the island, either in color or design.
Since the studio is in my home, I am always open! Visitors enjoy coming into my home, the view of Crocus Bay in my back yard is spectacular and guests are frequently greeted by the flock of chickens that live in my back yard.
Children's quilts are a big seller, there are usually at least a dozen or so to choose from. There are some bed size quilts and a lot of throw size quilts, perfect for taking naps, or tossed in your favorite chair.
The inspiration for my quilts always starts with the fabric, it speaks to me. I aquire fabric from all over the world, African cottons, satin, silk, rayons, linens, all are incorporated in my work and are unique one of a kind creations.
You will find the studio just up the street from Lloyd's Guest House, on the west side of the road, there is a sign in the front yard.
