This is my Mom's personal favorite, shown here hanging in our dining room,
where this large bold lithograph "owns" the wall. She asked Lynne about its origin...
"I carried this image in my mind since 1994, my first carnival in
Anguilla... the crowds on the beach during the very popular August Monday boat
race, along with these young girls and their colorful bathing caps against
their rich brown color.
This painting was
painted for the 2nd Anguilla International Art Festival 2000.
I took the opportunity to use my signature sepia style
and could not wait to recreate those colorful caps. This painting placed
Best of Show in Watercolor."
And no wonder -- it's breathtaking. And if you have ever walked on
Sandy Ground Beach during the August boat races, you'll know exactly
what I mean.
