Anguilla Golf Update:
Jack Nicklaus &
Jumeirah Anguilla Golf Course

The former Fairmont and Jack Nicklaus Anguilla golf project is currently underway.

Originally, the Anguilla golf course and Anguilla luxury resort was to be run by Fairmont. The Anguilla luxury hotel and golf course was laid out to run along the island's south shore, facing St. Maarten.

After much on-again, off-again and a little thing called the recession, the plans are back on!

Now, Jumeirah is taking over for Fairmont. Jumeirah is a luxury hotel organization from Dubai. The organization owns and operates some of the most high end resorts worldwide, including the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

Jumeirah will be working with Conch Bay Development, owned by the Lakes and Kentishes, and will be affiliated with Robert A. Petrallia and Jack Nicklaus.

The current outlines sound similar to the original plans laid out by Fairmont.

The Anguilla luxury resort will have 140 rooms, with spa, conference areas, beach access, residences, and a full, 18-hole "Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course."

The Anguilla golf course will run right along the water, catching the refreshing tradewinds, sculpted into the unique, rocky terrain located on the southern side of the island, offering a unique Anguilla golf experience.

The best part about this Anguilla golf course?

It will be in our backyard!

Our Anguilla home is located on the south shore.

When we lived in Canada, our house backed onto a golf course. It was a matter of hours before my Dad developed an obsession with the sport and spent many days, nights and even thunderstorms practicing his chipping.

How long until we find my Dad night Anguilla golfing? ;-)

More Jumeirah and Jack Nicklaus Anguilla golf updates to come!
