I was at the CuisinArt Resort. It was my second time there, and it is truly fabulous. Well, who walks down the beach, but Magic Johnson. He is hard to miss!! A very tall black man!
Later that morning I did a pilates class in the spa, and was sitting next to a woman and we started to talk and it turned out to be his wife. She was lovely, and we had a very nice talk.
We saw Magic at the beach every day and eating lunch every day. He didn't stray far from the hotel, and he was just like a regular guest.
The truth is that no on even really paid attention! That just shows the calibre of people that stay at this resort.
So, that was my brush with a famous Basketball player in Anguilla!
Nori's Reply: How cool, Lee!
It seems like Anguilla is becoming an increasingly popular destination for NBA players and former professional basketball players.
Michael Jordan was spotted around Anguilla on two separate occasions in recent years. On his first visit he stayed at Viceroy Anguilla and traveled by private jet.
The second time around he moored a luxury yacht offshore of Crocus Bay and dined frequently at daVida. Everyone I met who had a chance to talk to him said he was quite nice. He took many photos with fans as well.
I uploaded a photo of him and Derek Jeter (who traveled together ) above.

Another big name in basketball to make a splash in Anguilla?
Shaquille O'Neal!
Shaq hosted a New Year's Eve party at Viceroy Anguilla.

I have heard reports of many current NBA players, like Gary Payton, in Anguilla too!
