"Rosé at Sun-Down" is no longer taking place. We will update this page if/when it begins again.
Perhaps the most elegant and timeless bar in Anguilla, Malliouhana's Sunset Bar is where "new" world meets "classic" tradition.
Inside Malliouhana's Sunset Bar
Posh and refined, with touches reminiscent of the Caribbean of yesteryear (note the Haitian artwork and use of rich woods), it is the site of an evening that has been growing in popularity...
Malliouhana's Rosé at Sun-Down.
Preparing Rosé Cocktails
Held every Saturday evening, no detail has been overlooked in creating a flawless atmosphere, complete with complimentary hors d'oeuvres, live music, all in celebration of Anguilla's stunning sunsets and, a wine whose color often reflects Anguilla's own sunsets, rosé.
Malliouhana boasts one of the island's most interesting and diverse wine cellars, curated by experienced and expert Sommelier Albert Lake.
Malliouhana's rosé evening is also a celebration of one of Albert's favorite types of wines, rosés.
What's on their rosé menu?
Bartender Devon, Presenting Rosé Cocktails
The long list of rosés vary in flavor, some with hints of lavender and Herbs de Provence, others with aromas of grape and summer berries.
Saturdays' rosé drink menu even features rosé-infused cocktails, including...
Each has a twist. The Lemonade features rosé and citrus vodka, the Margarita mixes rosé with white Don Julio and Cointreau, and the Sangria has a pleasant sparkle, using bubbly rosé with white rum and fresh strawberries. The Sangria is my sister, Yuki's top pick.
Cocktails are $18 and wines range anywhere from $13-32 per glass or $45-300 per bottle.
Apart from the fine selection of cocktails and rosé wines, what else makes rosé evenings at Malliouhana so special?
At one of Anguilla's culinary capitals, the hors d'oeuvres surely cannot go overlooked.
The menu can change week to week and often includes...
Foie Gras Toasts and Mission Figs with Prosciutto
Foie Gras au Torchon is topped with blueberry compote and pickled radish, and Mission figs are wrapped with prosciutto and aged balsamic.
Rib-Eye Sate and "Rice and Peas" Arancini
Prime-aged rib-eye sate pairs nicely with chimichurri, while the creative "rice and peas" arancini (with Comté cheese) are served in a spicy tomato sauce.
Red Snapper Crudo
Red snapper crudo is served on fresh slices of cucumber and is mixed with jalapeño and lemon, all topped with radish.
Ever-creative and modern, the combinations of flavors more than please the palate, and offer a brief preview to dinner at The Restaurant at Malliouhana.
Finally, Leslie Nanton sets the tone with his smooth voice and famous, widely-loved covers of classic, crooner tunes.
There isn't a bar better suited to Leslie Nanton's style and presence.
The experience truly delights every sense, a stunning Anguilla sunset being the "jewel" to the evening.
