Oh, The Sights!: Gorgeous Views in Anguilla That I Miss

by Elijah Campbell

Anguilla Beaches

Anguilla Beaches

Anguilla is a small island in the Caribbean, yet its beauty will stay with you for years. When my vacation came to an end and I left this little jewel behind, there are many things that I will definitely miss about it. Maybe it’s all the amazing beaches, maybe it’s the many festivals, or it could be the exquisite dining experience. But there’s one thing for sure: the gorgeous views that welcomed me on this island will be a source of longing and yearning that will stay with me until you come back.

The Beautiful Beaches

Anguilla is known worldwide as having the finest beaches in the Caribbean. The crystal blue waters and the fine white sands of the beaches stretch in front of your eyes, seemingly infinite. And though Anguilla is a small island, there are 33 beaches here, each more gorgeous than the next. Spending time there will no doubt create lasting memories and made me miss the place dearly when I left.

The Offshore Cays

Another thing I miss is visiting the offshore cays. Sandy Island is only a short boat-ride away, while Prickly Pear Cays will take a bit longer to reach, but both the fauna and the flora took my breath away. This is paradise on earth—or the closest you’ll ever get to it. The birds, especially bananaquits and yellow warblers, are quite friendly, and I was able to feed them sugar, by hand. And if that’s not enough, the views of the ocean are literally breathtaking.

Little Bay

Nestled snuggly between high cliffs is a tiny cove called Little Bay. You can reach it by boat from Crocus Bay. You can also kayak or paddleboard there. It’s so beautiful and serene here, you’re guaranteed to forget about everything else in your life and just immerse yourself in this beauty. You can also snorkel or scuba dive and get a glimpse of what lies underwater. This is one cove that I will be thinking about for years to come.

And the Sunset

Sunsets are beautiful on many beaches, but on Anguilla they are spectacular. The colors are always dramatic and engaging. You just can’t help but stare at the vast landscape stretching in front of your eyes. Even pictures won’t give it its fair due, but your mind will always remember the amazing effects these purple and orange skies had on you. I will always remember the sight from my Ce Blue villa, staring over the ocean on my last day; it was magical.
