Nothing says "I'm in Anguilla" like walking into the lobby of the CuisinArt. For the last five years it's been our November "home away from home." We have developed wonderful friendships with Sabrina at the pool and Garvey at the CuisinArt beach bar. They take spectacular care of us.
I can't describe the feeling I have when I'm there. I'm completely content. Rendezvous Bay is my favorite beach. My husband and I walk down and back to the former Rendezvous Bay Hotel at least three times a day. One of the the things that I always remember when I'm home about Anguilla and the CuisinArt Resort is the smell of the flowers.
I'll let you in on a little secret of how I keep a little piece of Anguilla with me at all times at home. This year we discovered Anguilla sea salt (for your bath). It is to die for and totally makes me feel like I'm on the island. Whenever I miss Anguilla, I open up my bottle of sea salt and take a big whiff. We order it right from the Anguilla salt company - it's a must have.
Nori's Reply: I love your account of the CuisinArt Resort and Rendezvous Bay. CuisinArt must be the nicest resort on the island, Rendezvous one of the great beaches! And, thank you so much for the neat tip. I've never tried Anguilla bath salts, but I've always been curious about them, since they're coming from an island that was once driven by salt production!
